If you want to cheat on your spouse, you need to do a little thinking ahead of time.  The worse thing you can do is meet someone and allow “one thing to lead to another.”  This is just asking for trouble.  Cheating and getting away with it takes forethought and careful planning.

The first thing you need to do is create a cheating window of opportunity.  If you suddenly change your schedule so you can start hooking up with someone, your spouse is likely to become suspicious.  Find a reason to be away from home during a certain period of time and then actually do that particular thing for a while.  For example, tell your wife that you have to start staying later at the office and actually stay late for a couple of months.  When your spouse calls you or drives by and sees that you really are at the office, she will completely buy into the story.  Then, you can start finding other ways to spend your time.

In order to prevent suspicion at home, you also need to make sure you are having sex with your wife at the same frequency as before.  If you slow down on the lovemaking, she will assume you are getting it from somewhere else.  If you start having sex more often, she will think you are overcompensating for a guilty conscious.  Therefore, you need to try to keep things as even keeled as possible.

You absolutely must avoid leaving a paper trail if you are going to cheat on your wife.  Don’t use your credit card to pay for hotel rooms and dates.  Use cash only.  You might want to consider setting up a separate bank account from which you can draw extra cash, but this can be risky because a determined wife can find out about any open accounts you might have.

To prevent suspicion, you need to have your story straight before you hook up with another lady.  Don’t involve your friends by asking them to provide cover stories.  You can never be too sure when someone might feel guilty and decide to tell your wife about your little rendezvous.  Stick with a consistent cover story, such as being at work, so you don’t have to try to keep a bunch of different stories straight.  Women have a way of getting cheaters caught up in their own lies and poking holes in their stories, so make yours solid.

Finally, don’t give your mistress your phone number.  She doesn’t need to get in touch with you and she doesn’t need to know where you live or work.  Get her number and memorize it because putting it in your cell phone means risking that your wife will find it.  When you want to talk to her, you will get in touch with her.  Any other arrangement is just asking for trouble.
